The shopkeeper called me “human” and then proceeded to make fun of me by calling me “Mister Sir” after I set them right! And then they looked at my uniform and asked if I was “undercover too!” I'll have you know that this is the appropriate amount of gold for a captain's uniform and that it came this way! And I will not be made fun of!!!

Oh, the shop is very big! :) It even has a secret cellar hidden behind a bookshelf and there's rooms upstairs, too. And in the back behind the big book room is another room. But it's private so I've never been in there.
The one-person-staff is doing their best, but the organisation of the books is leaving a lot to be desired. Otherwise, this is a very reputable business that I will be happy to purchase from again.
But someone should really take care of that poor devil's ivy on the counter. It looked like it's hanging on for dear life.

i was just there to check and they actually sell books now??? technically thats good because now we can have books from the cryptid (!!!ANGEL!!!!) bookshop! BUUUUUT that ruins all the fun!

I have heard so much about this bookshop, though I never found the time to visit it myself. But with the recent goings-on, one of my children keeps begging me to go there and make sure everything is alright.
It is very cozy. I understand all the complaints now. I think it has become exactly the place it was meant to be, and even if it may not seem that way right now, everything is alright. I promise.

The whole cryptid thing has been debunked. Haven't you watched the videos? Stop trying to make something out of this shop that it isn't. You're wasting everybody's time when we could be investigating real cryptid sightings.

No. Because I had to take care of it. I keep telling them how you abandoned them. How you don't want them anymore, all of a sudden. One day you spend all your time around them, you smile at them and do that thing where you start to turn away and fight a smile before immediately turning back to say “Well, I never” or something ridiculous like that. And then you take all that warmth and shove it back into the lockbox that is your heart because you'd rather play at being the perfect little soldier.
You let them think they're wanted and welcome, that it's their bookshop as much as it's yours – because that's a thing now, sharing more than just dinner or a bottle of wine! And then you abandoned them to be sold off.
Just like your principles, I suppose. Because I thought you would never have allowed this. And that you were better than whatever you think you're doing right now.
I was so sure you're reading this because you used to care. But just like with everything else concerning you, I see now that I was wrong.
